Been amusing myself over the past hour by reading advice columns, specifically Gothic Miss Manners and The Vine.

Not much else to report here. Much munching of gingerbread, much typing, some housekeeping and some more cooking: a pair of thick pork chops braised in orange juice with plums and spices (a recipe from Chatelaine), green beans and couscous. The dog filched one of the bones and crunched it up noisily, and is now sprawled contentedly next to the sofa.

Time for more tea and more typing.
