Dr. Lisa's been getting chickens sacrificed in her honor (according to her comments section, at least), and rightly so.

On the other side of the coin, I've been skimming through a box full of old newsletters, and so far my favorite sentence of the lot comes from the obituary of Sister Grace Taylor, a nun who was also a calligrapher and book artist: "She paid for her press through the sale of her beloved Karat cats that she bred at the convent." (Patty Manning Sackinger, Capital Calligraphers (Oregon), 2001)
